Turning Precious Moments into Lasting Memories

For Jayne, photography is about far more than creating beautiful images; it’s about preserving the moments that matter most. Drawing on decades of experience as a paediatric nurse, as well as her own journey through motherhood and now grandmotherhood, she brings a unique blend of warmth, patience and understanding to every session. Through Jayne E Photography, she specialises in capturing authentic connections, heartfelt emotions and the fleeting moments that tell a family’s story, creating timeless images that become treasured memories for generations to come. Her approach is relaxed and gently guided, creating space for families to simply be together. Here, she talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the passion behind her business, the challenges she has overcome, and her hopes and dreams for the future.

The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?

I am a mother of four incredible adult children and now a very proud grandmother to three beautiful little ones. Having watched my own children grow into adults, I understand deeply how quickly time moves and how precious photographs become as the years pass.

Alongside motherhood, I have worked as a paediatric nurse for many years. Caring for babies and children has always been close to my heart, and I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the love, vulnerability and connection that shape the earliest chapters of life.

Photography has always been a quiet love of mine – the way an image can tell a story, hold emotion and preserve a fleeting season. Over time, it became more than a hobby. It became a calling.

I don’t focus on perfect poses. I tell your story. The messy, beautiful, in-between moments… the way little hands reach for yours, the laughter, the quiet closeness, the way they still fit against your chest.

My passion is capturing emotion and connection. I want you to feel something when you look at your photos. You don’t need to perform, and your children don’t need to behave perfectly. Just love them, pull them close, let them play – and I’ll take care of the rest.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?

My journey into photography grew naturally from years of loving both children and storytelling. I began by photographing families and newborns, focusing on connection over perfection and capturing genuine emotion and the moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

As my business has grown, I’ve recently created a dedicated newborn studio space, offering a calm and welcoming environment for families during those early days.

Each step has been intentional, built on experience, patience and a genuine love for what I do.

The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?

The biggest breakthrough was recognising that what I offer is more than photography – it’s storytelling and legacy.

When I shifted my focus from simply delivering images to capturing meaningful moments and creating a relaxed, supportive experience, everything changed. Families began to connect more deeply with my work because it felt real.

Leaning into those imperfect, beautiful, in-between moments has shaped both my style and my business.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

At this stage of life, balance feels more grounded. My children are grown and I now have the joy of being present as a grandmother while running a business I love.

I’m intentional with my time, creating space for both my clients and my family. Photography fits beautifully into this season of life, allowing me to connect with others while still prioritising my own loved ones.

Family has always been at the centre of everything I do, and that naturally flows into my work.
