Doona I really not transparent about the proper safety parameters for the car seat/stroller combo so most people are using them incorrectly without knowing. This is still a c shaped car seat which can cause spine issues and positional asphyxiation if used for too long. Up to 3 months the allowable time is 30 minutes in the seat before baby needs to be taken out. After the newborn phase but when the baby is still an infant the maximum time increases to 2 hours and the APA recommends you have them out for at least about the amount of time they were in the seat each time. It’s definitely annoying to bring a separate stroller or lay flat bassinet but it really helps protect your baby! Just sharing because many of my friends had no idea and we’re leaving their newborns in the doona for a car ride, lunch, stopping at the grocery store, and a car ride back home without taking baby out.
Unpopular opinion, babies dont need to travel. Family flies to see you. Not the other way arround.

Hey Sabrina this is super helpful. DId you ever do overnight with you baby? We are looking at a long flight to see family and are worried if that we don't get the bassnet attachment that we don't have a good option other than stay awake!
