For beginning to start solids, should we aim for once a day? Thats what I heard from another source, and a few teaspoons. I also heard to start one food at a time so that you can watch how baby's body reacts to the food. This video makes it sound like we should serve several foods right from the get-go. What do you recommend for just starting?
Hi Dr. Taylor – my 6-month old loves to eat (we started around 5 months), but sometimes she wakes up at around 11pm-1am with tummy troubles. This is not normal for her and started when we started solids. I haven't been able to figure out if this is due to particular food items or general discomfort from potentially overeating. Do you have any suggestions for the best way to tackle this? Use smaller portions/less variety for a bit until her digestive system is used to solids? I don't really want to limit her because she is enjoying food so much, but hate to see her with tummy/gas pain at night. Thanks for all of your classes! We are working through GIE 101 right now.
