My baby is 7month and not crawling or even sitting without support.
What can I do
At least here in Germany is not recommended at all to sit babies before they can do it themselves. This can cause back problems later on.
My baby loves to extend out her legs every time I put her in the supported sitting position. 😂
Thank you for all the tips and insights 🙂
Thanks Emma, another informative video as usual! My baby is 10 months old and could roll and crawl early, and is pulling to stand now, but somehow amidst all of that, sitting upright got lost in the mix; I’ve been so confused wondering if I’ve done something wrong or not given him opportunities. I hope it’s not too abnormal…
My babe is 5.5 months since practicing with her. We now do this twice a day rather whether it be for 5 seconds or 15 seconds then we move on just because shes become a bit resistant to practicing sitting now.
❤
It's crazy that babies learn all of this actually on their own. You just have to feed them, they don't need any special training. They are incredible!
Can I start these exercises with my 3 months baby ?
In my country the guideline is that you don’t get babies to sit with support – you wait for them to sit independently. According to them, their back muscles are not strong enough, so if made sit (even with support) before able to do it themselves, because of the lack of back muscle strength the weight is on their spine and that leads to it developing in the wrong way. Can I ask what your thoughts are on this?
My baby can sit fine, and he army crawls all over but he can’t do the transition from crawling to sitting. He’s 11 months old 😳 he will be 1 on Feb 7th I hope he doesn’t need intervention
Our First was quick to Learn to Sit. But their Younger Sibling rather Crawl First.
Great thanks
I just love your channel. I have used your videos with both of my children and they have helped us so much. You make the world a better place with the work you do. Thank you. <3
What if they refuse to use their own hands for support and just fold themself in half 🥲 (currently in a toe grabbing phase so she just folds herself up to reach her toes instead of attempting to sit upright)
My baby is almost 8 months and in PT as he can’t sit independently
Could you please provide any guidelines or studies that allow for sitting babies before 6 months of age? I would like to practice but all medical professionals I spoke to advised against it before baby's muscles are strong enough. People are mentioning putting their 3-4 month old babies in sitting position and you comment that is great. I am afraid to harm my baby by going against physical therapists advice.
My baby just keeps throwing him self backwards
My baby is 9 months and isnt sitting up by himself. Ive been trying all the tips and tricks evefy day from your videos he just throws himself bsck ontop me if i have him between my legs or turns so his back is arched over my thigh. Or folds himself in half putting his mouth on the floor even when i tried toys or his hands on the ground. Most of thr time he ends up hitting his head so i just let him go bsck into tummy time position. Its the only thing he likes right now
Is it normal to have my baby crawl backward at 5 months ? Is crawling possible before she learns to sit?
Hello does this work the same for kids who have a delay both in size and in the psychomotor department? 2 years old no sitting yet only slight head holding
Emma, my babygirl is 5 months and 4 weeks old, she is not sitting up independently by herself but she is crawling and holding on and standing by herself, is that ok?
I thank God
I thank God
Hi my baby trying to sit and trying to crawl but not yet
He is 9 month old boy baby
Pls give me some idea mam
Is sitting going to be much harder/delayed because my baby refuses to be in tummy time at 7 months old? He hates it and always has. He can roll, but hated to practice and didn’t roll till just before 6 months. He can roll both ways but has little interest in doing so. He will roll 4 times in a day and then not again for a week. Whenever he rolls onto his tummy, he is instantly distressed. He can’t be consoled or distracted on his tummy. He has hated it since birth.
Now we’re working on sitting. He hates working on any motor skill. He can sit pretty well against me, and up on my knee, that sort of thing. But if he face plants even once when practicing sitting skills, game over. He likes his toys but isn’t excited enough by anything to really have them be useful during practice. He just doesn’t seem to want to be motor-skilled at all.
The 6-month survey at the doctor added up to “slight motor delay” but my doctor is unconcerned. I know sitting is a 9-month milestone but I also know he’s just very uninterested in any of this that other babies seem to want to and be able to do, so I am getting worried.
We shouldn’t sit babies down. But we can help show them how to sit. If a baby isn’t ready to sit yet, it means their muscles aren’t developed enough, and we risk putting too much strain on their little body. So let’s teach babies how to get into sitting, rather than just placing them in a sitting position.
My son doesn’t like sitting. He flexes his back to get onto his back so he can roll over, flexes his back like he’s trying to stand up or just lunges forward to get onto his belly.
